Going to a new dentist for the first time might make you feel a bit uneasy; you don’t know what to expect or how soon to arrive.
Let’s clear up some common questions about your first appointment.
What to Bring
Before you head to our office for your first appointment, be sure you have the following:
- A valid photo identification
- Your dental insurance information
- A list of all your prescribed medications
- Any questions you’d like to ask
When Should You Arrive?
We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before your appointment time. This gives you the chance to fill out any paperwork and familiarize yourself with our office.
What to Expect from the Appointment
Once you’re checked in and comfortably seated in a treatment room, here’s what will happen:
- We’ll review your medical and dental history.
- We’ll perform a complete oral exam and take x-rays if necessary.
- We’ll professionally clean and floss your teeth.
- The dentist will speak with you about any concerns and create a treatment plan.
- Before you leave, you can schedule your next appointment.
