  • “I have been a patient of Dr. Robertson for over 20 years. I'm a sensitive patient when it comes to going to a dentist and Dr. Robertson always remains mindful of that and makes each experience as relaxing as possible. He has the best possible temperament one could ask for in a dentist. He consistently maintains the most professional and extremely friendly staff which combined with his skills makes his practice by far the best choice.”

    - Bill W, Newport Coast
  • “I just finished a session with Dr. Robertson which involved removing a bridge and filling the tooth that held the bridge, then replacing the bridge. Dr. Robertson was very considerate and caring doing the work. He was most careful while doing the procedure and there was no pain involved. He is especially good in situations such as this one was.”

    - Doris R Y.
  • “We're long-time clients of Dr. Robertson & Company, and we love our visits to his office. Dr. Robertson, and all the dental hygienists and staff, provide the very BEST care possible. Whether it's a simple cleaning and check-up, the need for fillings, cosmetic dentistry or other procedures, they do it all, and always with a smile! Dr. R even adjusted my retainer, the last time I was in. I know you'll enjoy the experience they give their patients. Keep up the great work, and you know we'll be back!”

    - Christine C.
  • “I want to thank you for the outstanding customer service that you and your staff have provided to me and my sister Josephine. I also want to thank Dr. Robert Bryan Mcleod and his assistant for the outstanding and great surgery they did on the extraction of my tooth. All of you are a blessing to me and my sister and are very thankful that we have you now and in the future to come. All of you are highly skilled, professional and very caring. I give all of you the highest rating in every category.”

    - Frances M.
  • “When I arrive for my appointments the staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming! When I arrive for my appointment, I am acknowledged immediately and seen just as immediately. No one LOVES going to the dentist but it's a necessary evil and it's nice when you have a staff as great as they are. I always feel like I'm in great hands. Invisalign

Invisalign Dentist Irvine CAYes! If you want to straighten your teeth without bulky traditional braces, clear aligners might be the right treatment for you.

Invisalign is an ingenious method for teeth straightening that forgoes the need for ugly brackets. Brackets can be uncomfortable and retain food at the worst times.

How Invisalign Works in Irvine

Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to move your teeth. You will need to change out your trays every two weeks or so for treatment to work. Dr. Jeffrey Robertson can provide you with the trays, information, and follow up appointments so that you can have the beautiful straight teeth you always wanted without the hassle.

Even though you wear your Invisalign trays for 22 hours a day, no one will notice because they are clear. You can take them out to brush, floss, and eat. That makes taking care of your teeth during treatment super easy.

To find out more about Invisalign, give us a call and we will get you set up for an evaluation.

With Invisalign, you can avoid much of the pain associated with traditional, braces. Invisalign utilizes a series of clear, plastic aligners to gently move your teeth instead of the metal brackets and wires used in traditional orthodontics.

Your aligners will be completely smooth to your cheeks and gums, so you will not need to use dental wax to stay comfortable.

When you change out your aligners, approximately every two weeks, you may experience a little soreness, but most patients report it is much less than with traditional braces. Invisalign moves your teeth very gradually, making treatment more comfortable and easier to adjust to.

When you do experience soreness, it usually subsides within the first day of wearing your new aligner. To learn more about Invisalign, or to schedule your appointment with our Invisalign Certified Provider, call our office in Irvine, CA.

We begin by taking impressions in our office, as well as specialized digital imaging to help with treatment planning. Once we have gathered all of the data necessary about your current smile and your future smile, we send it off to have your clear aligners made.

Wearing Your Clear Aligners

When you receive your aligners, you will begin wearing them and replacing them approximately every two weeks. For the best and most timely results, it is necessary for you to wear them 22 hours a day. That means you can take them out to eat and that’s about it.

You will also need to have periodic exams during your treatment to track your progress. Dr. Jeffrey Robertson will keep you posted on your progress and projected completion date. How long treatment takes depends on your particular case, but averages around six to eighteen months.

Because Invisalign is completely clear and does not have brackets, most people will never know that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. The plastic aligners are smooth and comfortable in addition to being virtually invisible. Call our office to schedule your Invisalign consultation.

Invisalign Dentist Irvine CAMore and more patients are choosing Invisalign over traditional braces. While traditional braces are still necessary in some instances, Invisalign offers the flexibility and convenience that our patients really appreciate.

The biggest attraction to Invisalign is that you cannot see the clear trays you wear for your treatment. Because your custom trays are thin, clear, and slim, most people will never notice that you have them. You can talk normally after getting used to them, which only takes a day or two of practice.

Other Advantages of Invisalign

Another advantage of Invisalign is that you can take out your trays to clean your teeth. Brushing and flossing brackets is a big hassle and requires special tools to remove all of the food particles from your hardware. With Invisalign, you simply remove your trays and brush and floss normally. You also remove them to eat, so you don’t have to worry about getting food in them.

Invisalign is smooth, so it does not irritate the insides of your cheeks. You will not need any orthodontic wax to keep from cutting the lining in your cheeks. Invisalign is comfortable and has no sharp edges.

Because we do not attach anything to your teeth, you don’t have to worry about residual glue or damage from the brackets. When you finish treatment, you just take out your trays and use a retainer normally. Call our office to find out if you qualify for Invisalign

man putting invisalign aligners inWhen patients express an interest in traditional orthodontics or in Invisalign, they often have concerns about whether they will be able to speak correctly or if others will notice. Just like with regular braces, you will quickly get used to Invisalign and be able to talk without a problem.

The aligners we use to create the Invisalign treatment plan are so thin that they really do not take up much room in your mouth at all. Since they are custom-created, they fit on your teeth snugly and do not slip or shift while you talk. It will take a specific lifting or pulling motion to remove your aligners, so there is no need to be concerned about them falling out and embarrassing you.

Other Pros of Invisalign

Invisalign is also completely clear and does not discolor over the two weeks you wear them unless you expose them to something. Since you remove them in order to eat, brush, and floss, you can clean and rinse them thoroughly. When worn correctly, you should have no problem disguising your Invisalign treatment from others.

Invisalign® clear aligners are a discreet way to straighten your teeth without bulky brackets and wires. And because you can remove them to care for your teeth, maintaining good oral hygiene is easier than ever.

So, how should you clean your teeth and your aligners during treatment?

Let’s find out.

Cleaning Your Teeth: The Fundamentals of At-Home Care

When you remove your aligners to clean your teeth, be sure to use a soft-bristle toothbrush and a non-abrasive, fluoride toothpaste. Brush your teeth twice a day.

Cleaning Your Aligners: The Other Half of the Equation

It’s essential to clean your aligners each day to avoid bacteria buildup. Rinse them with warm water when you take them out, and brush them with mild soap and a soft toothbrush. Or you can use a non-abrasive toothpaste. Rinse them thoroughly before putting them back in your mouth.

Be sure to avoid hot water, abrasive toothpaste, or harsh cleaners, as they can damage or warp your aligners.

Handling Aligners on the Go

When you leave your house, make sure you have what you need to care for your aligners on the go. Pack an emergency essentials kit that contains a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a case for your aligners.

Also, if you can’t brush right away after eating, rinse your mouth with water to rinse away food particles and bacteria.
